Head of Arera Discusses Energy Price Increases in Italy
Stefano Besseghini, the president of Arera (the Italian Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment), has addressed recent changes in energy prices, highlighting that while increases are expected in the first quarter, they won’t reach the extreme levels seen in 2022. Besseghini reassured the public that Italy is well-prepared in terms of energy storage and added that weather conditions may contribute positively to the situation. He stated, “We will not be caught off guard again,” emphasizing the country’s commitment to managing energy supply effectively.
