Lakeside Promenade Ready but Flood Basins Delayed: Completion to Take Several More Months
Despite the much-anticipated readiness of the lakeside promenade, residents and visitors of Como will have to wait a bit longer for the completion of the anti-flood tanks. According to the local government, the essential infrastructures to prevent flooding are yet to be finished.
Speaking on the matter, Councilor Sertori emphasized that the delays are due to pending electrical connections and the need for lower water levels to finalize the installation of the sluice gates. “There are still some crucial electrical hookups that need to be completed, and we require the water level to drop before we can proceed with installing the sluice gates,” he explained.
This update has dampened the excitement that surrounded the announcement of the promenade’s readiness. The project, which aims to enhance the safety and aesthetic appeal of the lakeside area, includes measures to prevent future flooding. Though the promenade itself is ready for public use, the delayed basins mean that the full benefits of the project will not be realized until all components are in place.
