The production value of the iconic Valtellina Casera and Bitto cheeses has seen a notable increase, reaching €14.6 million in 2023. This represents a 5.7% growth compared to the previous year, thanks largely to the continued popularity of Valtellina Casera cheese. The production of Valtellina Casera has surpassed 221,000 cheese wheels, totaling an impressive 16,598 quintals produced, marking an 8% rise in output.

These two Protected Designation of Origin (DOP) cheeses symbolize the Valtellina region, enhancing both local culinary heritage and boosting tourism appeal for visitors to the area.
